Outdoors for All Family Reunion FAQ

Q: How long does it take to register?

A: The registration process is very fast and can be done using any of the registration links on this email or by scanning our QR code on your phone during the cocktail hour from 5-5:30pm. It takes one to three minutes and can be done on any device that has internet connection or data. Simply verify your email address and enter your credit card information and you are all set! If you don’t see an email verification, check your spam or junk folder and add Greater Giving to your safe senders list!

Q: How do we watch and bid during the live program?

A: There are multiple ways to watch. The first and most common way is to have one device to view (tv or computer) and one device to bid (phone or computer). Only one device per household is needed to view, however, each bidder will require their own device to bid. All bidding is done through the Greater Giving account that you have registered for. This account is individual and linked to your email address and payment information, so we recommend not sharing your personal log in information. Tip: The live stream will be on YouTube If you have a Smart TV, you can launch the app directly.

Q: Do we have to register to watch the live event?

A: Technically, no. But we won’t be able to give you the most updated information on the event and logistics so registration is strongly recommended. We encourage everyone to register so that we can keep you in the loop on the event and what’s happening here at Outdoors for All!

Q: Is the event free?

A: Yes. The event is free to attend and we are excited about expanding our audience. There will be opportunities to bid on items or make a donation as you learn more about our mission.

Q: What is the cocktail hour?

A: The cocktail hour is from 5-5:30pm and a suggested time to have some snacks, enjoy a beverage, and make sure you are all set up to bid. Another option for cocktail hour is to have a Zoom call with a couple friends that are also attending. If you decide to go this route, we recommend setting up the Zoom link on your own and can even share your screen with our commercial pre-loop to make sure everyone is able to see the program. Keep in mind the program is quick, so you and your guests will want to be ready to go before showtime!

Q: I can’t make the event, may I still donate?

A: We are sorry you can’t attend the Family Reunion. For those of you wanting to donate in lieu of attendance you may do so on the registration page that will close on Saturday November 13th at 10pm. You will see on the site there is a green “DONATE” button. This takes you through the quick registration process and then to the donation page. Your donation will go towards the Raise the Paddle goal for the evening and even get your name on the big screen during the show! The video will be available to watch after the show on our Facebook, YouTube, and website.

Q: What happens at the live event?

A: The live event will consist of 13 live auction items. They are open now on our online bidding page. Live items will remain open until showtime and will close in real time as we make our way through the program.  You will also have a chance to hear from various staff, board members, and volunteers regarding our organization and program updates. The evening will end around 6:45pm with a video featuring one of our participants and their family before ending with Raise the Paddle.

Q: Can you see us?

A: NO! As much as we wish we were able to celebrate the auction together, you and your PJs are safe at home. The event is a one way screen so you will be able to view the show and interact via your device, but we can’t see you. If you want to share your photos or viewing parties feel free to upload photos and be sure to tag us and use the hashtag #OutdoorsforAllGala.

Q: I’ve purchased an item or made a donation but my card hasn’t been charged yet.

A: Thank you for your donation! Because this is a virtual auction, all credit card transactions will be completed on Monday, November 15th when we reconcile all items. Thank you for your patience on the processing timeline - all part of this new virtual world!
